Director of Systems, Test & Operations
Chris Steinman is the Director of Systems, Test & Operations for Locomation. In his role, he is responsible for the company’s Systems Engineering, Engineering Test & Evaluation, Fleet Services, Developmental Fleet & Crew Operations, and Operational Safety & Training functions.
Chris represents over half a decade of experience in the commercial AV segment, where his work contributed to industry best practices for the safety and performance of automated driving systems – and the organizations developing them.
Chris is located at Locomation’s headquarters in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. His prior employment includes Uber Advanced Technologies Group (ATG) and The Boeing Company. While at Boeing, Chris contributed to the success of numerous civil and defense vehicle programs, including spacecraft, rotorcraft, and fixed-wing jets. Most recently, he supported development of the next-generation presidential airplane as a systems engineer on the Presidential Aircraft Recapitalization contract awarded to Boeing Defense, Space & Security. His prior work is in engineering research and development.
Chris holds a Bachelor’s of Science in Engineering Science (ABET) from Penn State University and has enjoyed continued professional education through Johns Hopkins University, Stanford, MIT, and Harvard Business School.
