Director Sales Operations

After nearly a decade working in finance at Hughes Aircraft & SAIC, Bill landed at Qualcomm – then a newcomer in wireless communications – to help establish their new infrastructure finance team. In his initial role, Bill was put in charge of financial controls for Qualcomm’s $400M Sprint contract, which built out the first commercial CDMA network in the world.

When the Infrastructure group was sold a few years later, Bill moved over to the Omnitracs business unit, which had developed the first trucking-focused data communications system. Over his 8 years in Omnitracs, Bill took on multiple roles in Marketing, Partner Programs, Business Development, Business Operations, and Sales Operations, including an overseas assignment as Commercial Director to rebuild its European business unit. He also held Director-level roles in the $600M QIS organization, which was focused on developing and delivering mobile applications to wireless carriers globally.

After years of working for others, Bill left Qualcomm and bought a small business, which he successfully ran for 7 years, rebuilding the brand, growing the team and tripling revenues, all while working on the side as a real-estate developer, building and selling over a half-dozen single-family homes in the San Diego area.

With a degree in economics from UC Santa Barbara, and an MBA from San Diego State, Bill enjoys being back in the tech world, working at Locomation to help to bring the next generation of world-changing solutions to the market.
